PAST PROJECTS

Throughout my career as a filmmaker, I’ve had extensive experience working in post-production. This facet of the process is where I feel my biggest passions and a clear demonstration of my skill developments shine.

The examples below span from the last three years of my study, as being at the University has allowed me to better my skills with access to excellent equipment and the platform to better my craft throughout the years.

Holding On (2024) - Editor | Colour Grader

In this production I specialised as the Editor and Colourist, wrangling footage from the end of each shoot day and then, in conjunction with our Director Bailey Pulepule, assembling and cutting the final piece for submission. While definitely not my first experience as an editor, some of the technical restrictions of my own equipment many that I’d had to learn how to use programs such as After Effects and Davinci Resolve on the fly while in production, something that was high pressure in the moment but ultimately bettered my skills and the final film.

Questions And… (2024) - 1st Assistant Director

Questions And… had me specialise as the 1st Assistant Director, working with AnnaChierchia, who I'm collaborating with again in Circuitus as my Producer. While a lot more admin-based in comparison to a Writer or Editor, it provided extremely valuable experience and gave me an idea of the more pragmatic and logistical side of the filmmaking process, handling call sheets, scheduling and time-efficiency on set.

Blue (2024) - Script/Continuity Supervisor | Camera Assist

Blue has definitely improved my on-set efficiency, as well as how I work with others in a high-pressure situation that is production days. I was already proficient, however my skills had leaned towards more post-production before Blue, so I very much had to adapt my thinking on the fly towards a different sector of the process, and I think by the end of it, working with Trinity Macann, the Director and now my 1st AD, I’ve become. a better collaborator overall.

PAST PROJECTS AS A SCREENWRITER

Similarly, I also harbour great passion for screenwriting. Even when I was a child, I’ve always loved to tell stories, although I hope that I have improved in my craft since my scribbles in cheap notebooks.

I find great joy in telling stories, especially when they concern themes and ideas that resonate within my life. As an open lesbian and non-binary person, I tend to favour queer stories in effort to represent all aspects of the lesbian, from the dramatic to the mundane, as I’ve decided that it’s far more productive to write the stories I want to see in the world, then to wait for them.
